Pricing
How Perception jobs are billed, in credits per tool, from the same credit as Drex.
Perception jobs are billed from the same account credit as Drex. Credit, top-ups and pay as you go work as described in Drex pricing.
Credits per tool
The rates below apply when the tool does all the work. When Split or Extract reads a retained Parse result, its parse component is waived: Split costs 1 credit per page and Extract costs 2. Reusing a compatible cached parse of the same file in the same account also waives that component; an exact cached repeat is free. Different options, expired results, or a spreadsheet that must be parsed again can require fresh work. The final credits report what was billed.
Each tool uses credits on its inputs:
| Tool | Credits | With parse_mode: "high" |
|---|---|---|
| Parse | 1 per page | 2 per page |
| Split | 2 per page | 3 per page |
| Classify | 2 per page | 3 per page |
| Extract | 3 per page | 4 per page |
| Ground | 5 per target, on each file | No effort setting |
Each tool has its own price per credit. The current price of every tool, per 1,000 pages (per 1,000 targets for Ground), is on Models & pricing in the console. Each job keeps the price that was in force when it was admitted. When the document service changes how many credits a page uses, the price per credit moves the other way for that tool, so a page of Split costs the same dollars before and after; only parse_mode: "high" adds to a tool's price, by the credit it adds per page.
parse_mode: "high" adds agentic OCR correction, which doubles the parse part of a job: Parse costs twice as much, and Split, Classify and Extract cost 1 more credit per page. Spreadsheets count 500 non-empty cells as one page per sheet, rounded up, and audio counts each started minute as one page.
When you are charged
- Admission: a job is admitted only while the account's balance is positive, or auto-pay is on. It is not admitted while the account is paused for an unpaid invoice. Otherwise the create answers
402. - Charge: nothing is charged when the job is created. When it finishes, the document service reports its final
credits(also in the job body, withusage_final: true), and Drex chargescreditstimes the tool's price, once, whatever status the job ends in. - Failed or cancelled: a job that ends
failedorcancelledis not charged unless results were already delivered before the cancel or failure. - Negative balance: a job that finishes after the balance reached zero is still charged, which can leave the balance negative. New jobs are then refused until a top-up.
- Free: reading, listing, deleting and downloading jobs, uploads and saved schemas cost nothing and work at any balance.
